2015 Ford Mustang Prototype Caught in Action (W/Video)
What’s better than spy shots of a 2015 Ford Mustang prototype? Video. While we’ve spied numerous test mules, nothing is better than actually witnessing the pony car in action as an engineer takes it for a test drive, and today we can share video from Mustang6G.
We thought we got our best look yet at the prototype just recently, and the mule surprised us with its smaller proportions. Even though the early Mustang prototype was heavily camouflaged, it looked lower-slung than the current car, which was spotted testing alongside the prototype, offering a good comparison of the difference in size. The mule in this video doesn’t reveal much more than what we saw last, including the Evos-inspired headlights, smaller greenhouse, sharply creased rocker panels, and large brakes. Either way, we know big changes are underway, as the Mustang prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The 2015 Mustang will likely be powered by a 3.7-liter V-6, while the 2015 Mustang GT will bump it up a notch with the 5.0-liter V-8, with an EcoBoost I-4 engine variant possibly offered in the U.S., as well. Listen to the Mustang’s engine purr in a brief section of the video below, from Mustang6G.
