When Audi of America president Johan de Nysschen left to head the Infiniti brand (coincidentally around the time of a shakeup at the parent company), an interim president was named and the search began for a permanent replacement. That position has now been filled by someone from within the Audi of America organization. Scott Keogh, formerly AoA’s marketing chief, takes over immediately.

At the very least, Keogh should know his product. In his marketing role in the past six years, he has overseen product planning for Audi’s North American arm, helping to bring the RS brand to the States. You may also have seen one or two Super Bowl ads for which he was ultimately responsible. (In another pure coincidence, Mercedes-Benz USA also recently promoted its marketing head to president.)

Although Audi has seen sales growth recently in the U.S., it will have to continue if it’s to meet the lofty VW Group goals set for it and its fellow premium brands, and especially if it wants to catch or beat BMW and Mercedes, both of which consistently outsell Audi every month.
