Roush Configurator Lets You Customize a 2014 Ford Mustang
Playing with a vehicle configurator is a fun way to waste time and daydream about your perfect car. But for many, a dream car isn’t complete until it receives a few personal touches. Now, Mustang owners and prospective buyers can spec out their rides with aftermarket gear from Roush Performance through the company’s own configurator.
To begin, you start with the 2014 Mustang V-6 or 2014 Mustang GT. You must then choose one of the package choices, which start at $4500 for the GT and $4000 for the V-6. There’s only one powertrain upgrade: the Roush TVS 2.3-liter supercharger for the 5.0-liter V-8. That upgrade is available through the GT model’s Stage 3 package at a cost of $17,900 (including $900 for tax and transportation). The supercharger boosts the V-8′s stock output of 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque to a claimed 575 hp and 505 lb-ft.
Many more accessories can be added individually from the options menu. Here, interior and exterior styling can be customized and performance parts not included in a package can be selected. Performance-enhancing options include upgraded wheels and tires, high-performance brakes, a dual-chamber performance exhaust, Aluminator forged crate engine (available only for GT Track Pack models), and Boss 302-like rear seat delete with X-brace.
